( Prevents Flash Bleed ) Flash bleed is when the camera flash goes off and leaks into the cameras shutter  view and makes the picture all fuzzy, white, blotches, etc.

Foam is also used to boost the camera up closer to the door for a snug fit when the surveillance camera case lid is closed.

It can be used to absorb shock's and jolts to the  unit, and can also be used to allign certain equipment in your case, the actual usage is endless for this type of foam..
